Multiple USB Modems of the same Model on SmoothWAN

Hey guys,

Hoping you can help me figure this one out. I’m sure it’s something simple and I’m just not using the right search terms when searching online.

I currently have SmoothWAN 0.99.9 HF5 running on my Gl-iNet AX1800 (aka Flint)

For modems, I have 3x USB Sleds with RM520N-GL Modems plugged into the flint via USB cables.

I’ve got “Unique USB network interface naming” disable (unchecked) Speedify > Options

And I’ve created 3x new Interfaces as “Modem Manager”, set the unique Gateway metrics for all three and add them to the WAN firewall.

The problem is that I can’t tell which modem is which in the Modem Manager config in Luci?

They all show as the exact same (see screenshot below) so I don’t know which one is which and can’t get the setup working.

Would QMI work instead of ModemManager?

chansearrington did you get things squared away? You can kinda hack at it and inspect the browser dropdown to figure out the underlying device /sys.... I think OR just go in and use a combination of mmcli -L and mmcli -m x to interrogate the modems and their device paths then edit the interfaces in /etc/config/network

Is exposing the device path in that menu enough for next release?
