Installing on other brand routers

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I was wondering if it is possible to install smooth WAN on a different brand router?
For example open WRT can be installed on a Netgear R7800. Does the same concept apply to installing smoothwan on the R7800, since it is compatible with a openWRT install?

SmoothWAN contains customization for each hardware unfortunately, I’ve heard that Speedify is going to add OpenWrt support soon which should work with official OpenWrt build.
I don’t have the device to add support.
